Facilitator Guide

IMPACT is optimized for a facilitated experience. Our team recommends following the guidelines laid out in the Facilitator Guide.

Things to Keep in Mind

There is no right or wrong answer to the reflection question action cards – the goal is to think about your interpretation and have exploratory conversation with your fellow players.

If you aren’t familiar with a piece of information on the character cards – or a tool listed on the technology cardsfeel free to research it and learn more about it.

Instructions

Step 1: Select your cards.

There are two options to select random cards. The Shuffle All button (located in the top left corner underneath the home icon) will shuffle all three cards. You can also click on each individual card to randomize that card.

The lock icon, in the bottom, left-hand corner of each card, allows you to lock, or freeze, that specific card. If you lock a card, you can use the Shuffle All button to shuffle the unlocked cards.

Step 2: Read your cards and complete the action card prompt.

Use the character card and technology card to fill in the respected blanks on the action card.

If you aren’t familiar with a technology or any character’s information, please feel free to do some research and learn more about it.

Step 3: Discuss the completed action card.

Ways to Play

All Cards Completely Random

Choose your three cards at random by clicking on the Shuffle Cards button once or the back of each the three decks (character cards, action cards and technology cards).

Select Your Technology

Choose your character card and action card at random by clicking Shuffle Cards or by clicking once on the back of each of the two decks. Then click the lock button under each.

Cycle through the technology cards using the same randomizing method until players agree on a best-fit tool for the scenario.

Select Your Action Card

Choose your character card and technology cards at random by clicking Shuffle Cards or by clicking once on the back of each of the two decks. Click the lock button under each.

Use the randomizing method above to cycle through the action cards until players identify a compelling scenario to discuss.
